Circumstances requiring a short-term stay

This type of a temporary residence permit, i.e., a permit due to circumstances requiring a short-term stay, may be granted to a foreigner residing in Poland, if:

- they are obliged to appear in person before the Polish public authority or

- their presence in Poland is required by their exceptional personal situation or

- their presence in Poland is required by the interest of the Republic of Poland.

Note! The permit is granted for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of the foreigner's stay, but not longer than 6 months.

Note! The permit may also be granted even if the circumstances of applying for this permit do not justify the foreigner's stay on the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period longer than 3 months.

Note! A foreigner who has obtained this type of a temporary residence permit cannot work, even if the employer has obtained a valid work permit for them.
